Hi Folks,
In the last two weeks I have been approached by two Galleries about showing my work. I have never shown any where and certainly not in Gallery. I know that many of you have and I would appreciated any suggestion you may have about how to deal with them. What questions I should ask, what should I understand, etc.

Being out in the shop and doing knife work it is hard sometimes to get on this computer with all the other things that need to be done. But I do manage to get here from time to time. The weather outside is getting colder and I am stopped with painting due to that. I like painting with my big door open so I can use the natural light from out side. With the winter approaching it it impossible to do so. I do have a concern about storing my old paints in the shop. Is there a certain temperature for storing old paints supplies. The temperature is the shop just go down to about 38 to 40 degrees most of the time. I do utilize a kerosene heater in the shop when I am making knives. But I do not think that and paint thinner would go to well. The paint thinner I use is the good stuff you can not smell it. But I do not think the two would go well. Any opinions this issues. Would love to hear a professional person. Hope you have a great week there and God bless you all.

I wish this forum was more active. I find Wet Canvas a better place. There is a wealth of information there. Sorry people but it's true.

I use Masterson's Pallett Seal to keep my disposable pallett in. I want to purchase a safety glass pallet. Using a raiser within a raiser holder is easy clean up!

i brought myself students oil colour then recently i found artist oil colour in the store i bought that also.
but the artist oil color is slightly difficult to use and mixing it seems tough. i prefer using students oil color.
also im amateur. I want to really understand shading and light part. Its very difficult for me. any guidance how to develop shading part."

I'm wondering if anyone has replied to your question. I see 44 comments though. I'll just have to look. I think a lot depends on the brand of oil paints. I use just a bit of medium, too much isn't good. There are blinder brushes. Everyone has their favorites. One thing in art class was my teacher said always give a light touch and the way you hold the brush really matters. Good videos can teach so much also.
My email had your post here as spam and I just now figured this out. I had to go on-line to see I had 6 emails as "spam"! They were not spam! :-(

Hello People, I just got some oils and other materials to paint in oils. I wish I had some better paint though. I've taken photos I plan to use for my paintings. The next painting I start will be my truly original painting, well maybe not. I've done some from my own head. I'm not sure I like them. I also like acrylics and mixed media. I read stuff on Wet Canvas forum also.
